East Bay Mini-Maker Faire

October 22, 2017 @ 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Alameda County 4-H has a communal booth at the East Bay Mini-Maker Faire for the second year in the row. Last year, East Hills did a Lego challenge and robotic table, but this year, we are taking a different tack and doing a “Come and Build a Lego City” table. We’ll have a table filled with already started buildings and then bins of Legos for kids to build and add to the city. Other clubs will have animals and a science activity, and of course there’s the entire Maker Faire to enjoy. If the main Maker Faire in May in San Mateo is fun but perhaps too crowded and too much, the East Bay Maker Faire is more manageable in terms of size and crowds. There are still lots to do and see, but the noise level is quieter, the site is smaller and the crowds are less intense. It really is a nice introduction to the Maker Faire mentality without being overwhelmed.
