It’s not too late to register for the 2018 California 4-H Camping Conference, April 6-8, at beautiful Redwood Glen in Loma Mar, San Mateo County. Held only every-other year, the weekend is designed to increase knowledge, skills, awareness and enthusiasm for staff, adults volunteers and youth who plan and deliver camping programs throughout the state.

A fabulous line-up of workshops awaits, many presented by our UCANR colleagues and other experts in the field. Among the 24 sessions, topics include examining traditions and their purpose; building, evaluating and recognizing staff; findings from our statewide camp evaluation (and how your camp can be involved); and many ideas for integrating STEM, healthy living, and environmental education into your program.

There are also sessions designed to “freshen” camp programming with new ideas for all-camp programming, time-fillers, icebreakers and openings, tools for reflection…and how to create a really great evening campfire!

Did we mention it’s a lot of fun?

Mini pig needs a new home. The pig is 3 years old and is super domesticated, per the owner. She says the pig will make a great pet. Patty suggested the mini pig may be great in a petting zoo.

For more information, please contact Kris at info@EastHills4H.org so she can give you the contact information for the owner.
